Vicki Khuzami first arrived in New York City in the early 1980's. She found work as an art restorer of 19th century paintings. After two years as a restorer, she then started working for Dell Publishing, Simon and Schuster, and Harlequin painting Romance Novel book covers. After a successful four years she was introduced to Evergreene Painting Studios. With artist/owner Jeffery Greene at its hull, Evergreene was on its way to becoming one of the largest restoration and mural painting studios in the country. For the next 8 years she worked freelance as a designer and painter on many of their projects. This work environment and experience was invaluable in developing her to become a mature artist and eclectic in all directions of design and style. Each project was a challenge whether designing over 500 liner feet of murals for Trump's Taj Mahal Casino, running large productions, or part of a team painting large scale murals such as The Ironworker's Union Mural at 451 Park Avenue South.

In 1993, Evergreene skillfully won the prestigious commission to create new murals for The Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. Ms Khuzami was among a chosen group of artists to work with Greene on this year long project. She helped research, design, and execute many of the 26 historical scenes that line the ceiling of Western Corridor of the House of Representatives.

In 1995, Ms Khuzami opened her own studio. Some of her projects include murals for; New York Botanical Gardens, Gettysburg, Disneyland Tokyo, Disney Ambassador Hotel, Japan, Tibet House, Bloomingdales, The National Park Service, and numerous private homes and restaurants across the country.

During the last ten years, Ms Khuzami has collaborated with artist Matsumi Saito. Mr. Saito runs one of Japan's largest mural painting companies, Moo AW Studio (http://www.moo-aw-studio.co.jp). Together they created over 3,000 square feet of murals for Oriental Land Company, associated with Disneyland Tokyo. Other projects include murals for Kirin Beer Corporation, NAMCO, and Daiei Corporation. They often accept international projects and offer a great understanding of the design needs and concerns of both Western and Asian corporations and individuals.

Vicki Khuzami was featured on House and Garden Television, HGTV series, "Modern Masters". The program shows the artist working with her client on a mural in his contemporary industrial loft. The mural is depicting an ironworker restoring 42nd street.

In 2001, Ms Khuzami taught mural painting for The New School in NYC. That summer, in Greenwich Village, she worked on a 24 foot by 4 foot mural called "Legends of Greenwich Village" for Morton Williams Associated Market. The mural features stylized portraits of famed Greenwich Village bohemians such as Bob Dylan, Jackson Pollock, and Allan Ginsberg.

In a recent collaboration with artist Mason Nye, they created a five story Atrium mural, 30 feet by 60 feet high which illustrates a panoramic view of New York City in the 1800's from the Jersey Shore for Hamilton Park Corporation.

She continues to work on her murals, illustration, and fine art from her studio on 39th Street where she enjoys a view of Times Square. She says," As an artist, you must often work long hours alone in your studio. With that said I couldn't bare to work in a studio isolated in some far corner of the city. If I have to work alone at least I can look out of my window at the wonderful chaos of NYC."
